| BUILDING YOUR CUSTOM CUSHION |
| 1) MEASURE THE WIDTH: (left to right) |
Most outdoor furniture is made for STANDARD WIDTHS: 20", 22", 24", 26" & 52". A cushion exceeding 52" in width can cause problems. The critical width measurement is the distance between arms or sides. Also check to see if seat is tapered. Take both front and rear seat width measurements.
|
| 2) MEASURE THE DEPTH: |
| Most quality outdoor furniture is made with separate seat & back cushions (especially deepseating Lounge/Sofa sets). Hinging seat to back cushion usually degradates overall quality/thickness of foam. Measure length of seat or bottom pad. One inch extra is frequently desired or acceptable. If rear of seat is slightly curved, measure from maximum point of curve. |
| 3) DETERMINE HOW THICK YOU WANT YOUR CUSHION: |
| 4) MEASURE HEIGHT OF BACK: |
| Now subtract thickness of seat cushion. Example: |
 |
If the back cushion is slightly curved at the top, measure from highest point. One inch extra at top is frequently desirable. |
HINGED CUSHIONS are measured differently....
If you have your old cushion and it fits properly... place cushion on a flat surface, meaure width from left to right... top edge to top edge (do not roll tape measure to a center side seam) |
 |
 |
For DEPTH of Cushion, measure from FRONT to CENTER of Hinge.
For HEIGHT of Cushion, measure from HINGE to HIGHEST POINT of BACK |
